“Stadtlicht” it is. Almost 50 years the community was known as “Gemeinde Tulpengasse”. Imagine the weight of a name, a familiar label. Stadtlicht – Freikirche Wien Margareten emerged after moving from Tulpengasse. They wanted to bring a bit more divine light to the city.
Stadtlicht shares its location with New City Wien. Both congregations use the novum Wiedner Hauptstraße. This space is part of novum locations. They provide event spaces throughout Austria. These spaces serve as church locations on weekends. During the week they are available for rent. This setup provides affordable space for churches.
Stadtlicht meets for Sunday services in the morning. New City Wien gathers in the afternoon. The COVID-19 pandemic changed things. Both churches now offer live streams on YouTube. This allows wider participation.
The Gemeinde Tulpengasse belongs to the Bund Evangelikaler Gemeinden. This connects it to the Freikirchen in Österreich. Stadtlicht streams its services every Sunday at 10:30 AM. You can find past sermons online too.
Stadtlicht wants to help you discover God. They want to help you grow in faith. They also aim to do good in the world. Stadtlicht gathers for worship at Wiedner Hauptstraße 146-148. Services start at 4 PM every Sunday. The location is fully accessible.
There is also a musical camp. It happens in the summer of 2025. This camp is for kids aged 9 to 13. If you enjoy music and creativity, you can sign up. It is a week filled with fun, community, action, and music. Participants will put on a musical. They rehearse for five days. Then they tour to two locations for concerts. You can sing in the choir or perform a solo. You can also act or dance.
Stadtlicht also sends out an email. It contains news and event information. It arrives about once a month.
