Let’s step back in time to April 1998. The foundation was laid for a church that would become a spiritual home for many. After three years and eight months of dedicated effort, St. Anthony’s Catholic Church was completed in December 2001. The design symbolizes the spirit of Catholicism. Its construction required the effort of many Catholics.

St. Anthony’s is an international parish. It provides Holy Mass in English every Sunday at 11:00 am. This service caters to overseas Catholics living and working in Shenzhen.

The church has four Sunday Masses. There is one at 9:00 am. Another one is at 11:00 am in English. There are additional Masses at 7:00 pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Weekday Masses are held at 7:00 am from Monday to Saturday.

Many priests have served at St. Anthony’s. Ren Lijun was the first priest, serving from December 1993 to December 2002. Other priests include Yang Ke, Han Wensheng, and Zhang Tianlu. Feng Guoxin and Liu Yongbin also served. Zhang Tianlu returned in December 2019.

Getting to St. Anthony’s is quite easy. You can take subway Line 2 to Qiaoxiang Station. Take Exit A and walk 850 meters.

St. Anthony’s Catholic Church covers 3,944.8 square meters. It is located on Nonglin Road in Futian District.
