St John’s School

Could a school building inspire courage, curiosity and integrity? Standing here, in front of St. John’s School, you might start to believe it’s possible. Founded in 1986, St. John’s School began its life as St. Andrew’s School Society. Initially, it served fewer than 100 students from grades 3 to 10. Today, St. John’s School is a completely different story. It’s a thriving independent school with an impressive campus in Kitsilano. St. John’s School embraces the International Baccalaureate program and has even expanded its facilities to accommodate the growing student body. In 2011, the school unveiled its new senior school building, which boasts the Gunn gym, the largest gym of any independent school in the Lower Mainland. But that wasn’t the end of it. St. John’s School continued to grow and evolve. In 2019, a new connecting building joined the Junior and Senior schools – The Arts and Science Center. This innovative space is not just about aesthetics. It houses the largest smart board in the Lower Mainland, underlining St. John’s School commitment to cutting-edge education. St. John’s School is more than a place of learning. It’s a community dedicated to nurturing not just the minds, but also the hearts and health of its students.
