A beacon of education, it was born from the dreams of the parishioners of St John Bosco Parish. They, along with Father John Briffa, envisioned a place where young minds could flourish. Initially serving Years 7-10, the school evolved with the community’s needs. In 1998, it expanded to include Years 11 and 12, becoming St John Bosco College. That same year, the first Year 11 class began their studies, paving the way for future generations. The first graduating class of St John Bosco College marked a new chapter in the school’s history in 1999, led by inaugural College Captains Ryan Della Ca and Elizabeth Favaloro. The college’s heart beats with the rhythm of its Salesian heritage. Its patron, Saint John Bosco, a 19th-century Italian saint, believed in an education that nurtured the whole person. This philosophy, based on reason, religion, and loving-kindness, permeates every aspect of the college experience. St John Bosco College sits on a vibrant campus with modern facilities. The Ciantar Block, a classroom building completed in 2006, honors Father Joseph Ciantar, a pioneer of the Salesian Mission in Engadine. Nearby, the Reichel Court, a basketball court, stands as a tribute to teacher Chris Reichel. Even the college badge tells a story. A simple white cross against a dark green background, it bears the name “Bosco” and the motto “Gaudium Et Spes.” This emblem symbolizes the college’s commitment to fostering joy and hope in every student.
