This church’s story began with deep roots in the Protestant Reformation. The Reformation emphasized Jesus as Savior. It also valued the Bible and salvation through faith. St. Giles Kingsway Presbyterian Church is tied to the Presbyterian Church of Canada. Presbyterians get their name from the Greek word for elders. Elders are elected to oversee church life. They manage ministries and pastoral care.
In 1950, a group of Elders and Rev. Dr. William Adamson started St Giles Presbyterian Church. He was their first Minister. By 1960, Kingsway Presbyterian and St Giles joined together. They became St Giles Kingsway Presbyterian Church. The congregation grew quickly. They added a larger sanctuary. It is where they worship today. For over 73 years, St. Giles has served God and the community. This was achieved by the faith and effort of many people.
Today, Reverend Tim Bruneau leads St. Giles Kingsway. He came to the church in 2012. Tim focuses on teaching from the Bible. He wants the church doors open to all.
Dr. Clark Schaufele serves as the Director of Music. He enhances worship with his musical talent. Beth McWhinnie is the Administrative Assistant. She ensures the church operates smoothly. Timothy Connor serves as Discipleship Pastor. He guides spiritual growth.
