Where history and diplomacy intertwine, that’s where you’ll find us, right in front of the South African Embassy in Prague. This unassuming yet stately building at Ruská 65 holds more stories than a book on diplomacy. The South African Embassy in Prague has been a silent witness to the unfolding relationship between the two countries. This diplomatic bond officially started on October 29th, 1991, marking the establishment of full diplomatic relations between South Africa and the then Federal Republic of Czechoslovakia. Interestingly, even though Czechoslovakia later separated into the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the diplomatic ties with South Africa remained unbroken. The embassy is more than just a workplace for diplomats. It’s a symbol of South Africa’s presence in the heart of Europe.
