Founded in 1975 SKH Bishop Mok Sau Tseng Secondary School stands proudly on Wan Tau Kok Hill in Tai Po. This isn’t just any school. It’s a place steeped in history and brimming with stories. The original campus was a stunning piece of architecture. It received the Silver Medal from the Hong Kong Institute of Architects in 1976. The design was Modernist Brutalist. Two blocks one high and one low stood at right angles. The fair-faced concrete was later painted white for easier maintenance. But the wide single-loaded corridors remain. They are adorned with red brick walls creating a unique atmosphere. Even the external bypass staircase near the tuck shop holds a special place in the school’s memory. It was a favourite spot for students exchanging notes and jokes with teachers.

The school’s grounds are equally captivating. An amphitheatre connects the entrance to a rectangular pond. Before the recent expansion students crossed the pond via stepping stones. These stones are reminiscent of the entrance to Tomba Brion in Italy though the inspiration remains a mystery. Water lilies float on the pond koi fish swim below. A cypress tree once stood tall for over thirty years near the pond adding to the serene beauty. An organic farm nestled near the playground adds a touch of nature. Squirrels occasionally visit.

The late 1990s brought a surge in student numbers. This led to a necessary expansion. Funding came from the government teachers students parents and the public. Today SKH Bishop Mok Sau Tseng Secondary School boasts a multimedia learning centre a student activity centre and much more. Every classroom is equipped with advanced technology ensuring a modern learning environment.
