Si Yuan School of the Precious Blood is in Tsuen Wan. You can find it at 2 Shing Mun Road. This school began as Precious Blood Convent Wa Kwai Ming New Village School. That was a morning school. In 2009 it changed. It became a full-day school. It also changed its name to Si Yuan School of the Precious Blood.
Why Si Yuan? The Si Yuan Foundation gave 4 million HKD. This helped build the school. So it was named after them.
The school’s motto is simple. It is “Reverence God Love Man.” The school wants students to love themselves. They should love others too. Also students should love the world and God. This is how they practice their faith.
Si Yuan School of the Precious Blood wants students to grow. The school wants them to become well-rounded people. The school was once the New Territories Traffic Headquarters. People called it the “Traffic Department.” It is near Tai Wo Hau Station.
Several principals have led Si Yuan School of the Precious Blood. Sister Lau Yin Hing was principal from 2009 to 2015. She now supervises other schools. Ms. Kwok Man Yee was principal from 2015 to 2023. She served the old school since 1984. Ms. Yau Kwai Fong became principal in 2023. She came from another school in the same group.
Many people have been vice-principal. Ms. Chan Man Wing was there from 2009 to 2022. Ms. Kwok Man Yee also served as vice-principal. Mr. Chan Chi Hang was vice-principal too. Ms. Ng Mei Ling held that position as well. Mr. Leung Hon Fai and Ms. Cheng Lai Yuk have also been vice-principals. Currently Ms. Yip Sin Ning and Ms. Ma Yun Fong are vice-principals.
Si Yuan School of the Precious Blood is a Catholic school. The Precious Blood Sisters run it. The school has 24 classes. Boys and girls both attend. They teach in Chinese.
The school has many activities. There are STEAM courses. Students learn with computers. They have to learn about morals and religion too. The school wants students to be good citizens.
