Shek Lung Kung itself is a popular hiking spot, known for its concrete paths, pavilions, and incredible views. On a clear day, you can see Tsing Yi, the Tsing Ma Bridge, and even Ma Wan. But this hidden school, the Lin Fa Shan Public School, offers a different kind of view, a glimpse into the past. It’s become a favorite spot for photographers, drawn to its nostalgic charm. The school adds a unique layer to the already appealing landscape. Now, if you’re interested in visiting Shek Lung Kung and the school, you can take bus 39M or 30X to Tsuen Wan. Get off at the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital, and the trailhead is right behind it. It’s about a two-hour round trip to the school and back. While it’s not terribly long, be prepared for some steep slopes and steps. The path up Shek Lung Kung can be demanding. Stock up on water and snacks before you start. If your main goal is to see the bridge and Lantau Island, along with the abandoned school, you can simply turn back once you reach the school.
