Severna Park High School opened its doors as the seventh public high school in Anne Arundel County. The original building stood until 2017 when a new, modern facility took its place on the same hallowed ground.

Traditions run deep here. When the school was founded the students chose the school colors. They are blue gold and white. They selected the Falcon mascot. The students even named the yearbook “Embers”.

The school’s “It’s Academic” team has shown its academic prowess. The team has consistently been a top contender in Anne Arundel County. They have even reached the Baltimore semifinals multiple times. The mock trial team has clinched state championships in 2006 2008 2010 and 2015.

Athletics at Severna Park High School are legendary. The Falcons have amassed numerous state championships across a variety of sports. Girls’ soccer has secured 6 state titles. Boys’ soccer has won 3. The field hockey team boasts an astounding 25 state championships. Boys’ lacrosse has an impressive 18 state championships.

Severna Park High School also embraces inclusivity through its Special Olympic teams. These teams provide opportunities for special education students. Other students can act as helpers in unified tennis bowling and bocce.

Many notable alumni have walked the halls of Severna Park High School. Steve Bisciotti owner of the Baltimore Ravens honed his skills here. Lauren Faust creator of “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” developed her creativity here.
