Selfie Wrld first opened its doors in June 2020. It was the brainchild of Iowa-based photographer Ashley Wilkerson. She started it during the coronavirus pandemic. The studio quickly went viral on TikTok. It spread to malls across the country. Nytasha Garland saw the potential and brought Selfie Wrld to the Washington area. She believed DC’s diverse population would love it. She was right.

Inside Selfie Wrld you’ll find over 25 immersive selfie stations. Each station is a unique backdrop. There are colorful Slinkies hanging from the ceiling. A retro diner complete with neon signs awaits your pictures. Giant velvet dice and fake ice cream cones add to the fun. You can even bring multiple outfits to capture a variety of looks. The possibilities are endless.

Selfie Wrld offers more than just a photo opportunity. It’s a place for connection. Local content creators use it to meet and network. It’s a chance to reconnect after the pandemic. For Garland it’s a place to encourage creativity and joy. A place where everyone is happy.
