Haruji Nakamura, along with his close friends Koyata Iwasaki and Shigezo Imamura, founded the “Seikei Jitsumu Gakko,” the precursor to what we see today. Their vision was clear: to cultivate not just minds, but character. They believed in “respect for individuality,” “cultivation of character,” and “commitment to hard work.” These principles, inspired by the adage “A peach tree says nothing, yet people naturally create a path to it,” have guided Seikei Gakuen for over a hundred years. Seikei Gakuen relocated to Kichijoji in 1924. Sadly, Nakamura, who had dreamed of this expansion, passed away before witnessing it. The move to Kichijoji was a significant step. It allowed the institution to flourish, mirroring the development of the surrounding area. From its humble beginnings as a vocational school, Seikei Gakuen has grown into a comprehensive educational institution. It encompasses an elementary school, junior high, high school, university, and graduate school. It has nurtured countless individuals who contribute to society, both in Japan and internationally. The institution has always emphasized a solid liberal arts education. This is combined with a rich sense of humanity. This focus becomes even more critical in our rapidly changing world.
