Contemplate this. What started as a small group of passionate developers in 1997 has become SCS Software. It is a leading name in simulation games. SCS Software is based right here in Prague.
SCS Software primarily focuses on creating simulation games. These games are available for Microsoft Windows, macOS, and Linux. The company is known for its attention to detail and realistic gameplay.
The initialism SCS comes from the founders’ last names. Pavel Šebor, Martin Český, and Petr Šebor came together. They shared a vision for creating immersive gaming experiences.
Let’s delve into some of SCS Software’s key achievements. Their portfolio includes the popular 18 Wheels of Steel series. Also, they created the critically acclaimed Euro Truck Simulator and American Truck Simulator franchises.
Euro Truck Simulator 2. It immerses players in the world of European trucking. Players can drive across a wide array of countries. These include the UK, Germany, and the Czech Republic. Many downloadable contents expanded the game. “Going East” added Eastern European countries. “Scandinavia” brought Denmark, Norway, and Sweden to life.
American Truck Simulator lets players explore the western United States. Gamers can drive licensed trucks from manufacturers like Peterbilt and Kenworth. The game has expanded to include states like California, Nevada, and Texas.
SCS Software also developed Prism3D. It is their own licensable 3D engine. Other games like Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project used it.
The company’s dedication earned them a dedicated fan base. The fans appreciate the attention to detail. They also praise the realistic simulation experiences in the games. SCS Software has released 2 video games from 2012 to 2016. These games were for DRM Free and Steam platforms.
SCS Software continues to develop new content and expand its games. This ensures a steady stream of engaging experiences for players. The “Heart of Russia” DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2 was delayed. This was due to concerns over the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine.
