The Scarborough Church of God’s story begins with a man named Bishop Dr. Basil A. Miller. Dr. Miller, born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, felt a calling to ministry at a young age. He pursued his theological education with fervor, earning numerous degrees and accolades. Dr. Miller has served the Scarborough Church of God since its inception, guiding it through various locations before finally securing its current home on St. Clair Avenue East in 2001. His leadership extends beyond spiritual guidance. He founded the Scarborough Hope Centre, a shelter for the homeless. He also established the Scarborough Church of God Bible School. This school has trained countless individuals who now serve in ministries around the globe. Dr. Miller’s work hasn’t gone unnoticed. He has been honored with numerous awards, including the prestigious “Excellence in Religion Award” and the Canadian Jamaican Diaspora Christian Alliance Award of Excellence.
