“Did you know that a tennis legend honed his skills right here?” I ask. We’re standing before Salkhallen. This is more than just a sports center. It’s a place where champions are made.

Salkhallen is located near Alviks Torg in Bromma. It is easily accessible. You can reach the hall by subway, tram, bus, car, or bike. From T-Centralen, it’s a quick trip to Alvik. Salkhallen even has its own parking spaces.

Salkhallen is part of Stockholms Allmänna Lawntennis Klubb. This is one of Sweden’s oldest and largest tennis clubs. The club has a strong focus on junior players. Björn Borg is a product of this club. That proves their dedication.

Inside Salkhallen you find fourteen courts. Not far from here is the Salk Tennis Park. There you will find five outdoor clay courts available for rent.

SALK has three club rooms. These are the Stockholm Open-rummet, the Björn Borg-rummet and the club kitchen. Together, they can seat about 100 people. The rooms can be used separately. You can also combine them by folding away the sliding walls.

These rooms were designed with interior designers. They connect to the tennis courts via a glass front. This connection is unique. It is appreciated during events. You can have refreshments and mingle while watching tennis.

Sponsors often use these rooms for conferences. Food and drinks are easily arranged. Bistro Garros is the hall’s restaurant. Conferences here are personal and energizing. The rooms have projectors and TVs.

The Stockholm Open-rummet is named after the tournament. SALK co-founded the tournament in 1969. SALK and Kungl. Tennisklubben are still main owners.

The Björn Borg-rummet is the heart of the club rooms. This traditional room is dedicated to Björn Borg. He is an honorary member. Borg inaugurated the room during SALK’s 100th anniversary in 2013. Here you can find the club’s tennis library. There are also selected trophies and historical photos.

The club kitchen has a bar. It also has a kitchen with extensive refrigeration. This allows for good serving opportunities.

Salkhallen is not just a building. It’s a living testament to Stockholm’s tennis legacy. As you leave, remember the echoes of bouncing balls. Feel the spirit of competition. Salkhallen embodies the heart of Swedish tennis.
