Isn’t it remarkable how a church can be a hub? St. Peter’s Anglican Church in Mowbray Cape Town is such a place. It stands as a beacon. It offers a positive influence in Jesus’ name.
St. Peter’s is more than just a building. It is a church family. It makes a contribution to its community. This extends to the city and the entire country.
Mowbray is a crossing point. Thousands of people from around the world pass through it. St. Peter’s Anglican Church is uniquely located. It is opposite the station and taxi rank. This gives the church a chance to be a positive presence.
Since March 2010, Dave Meldrum has been the Rector at St. Peter’s. He and his wife Bev moved to Cape Town from London. Dave is originally from the UK. He studied English at university in Edinburgh. He worked for Scripture Union. This was before working with homeless people in London. Bev also worked at the same project. That is where they met. Dave was ordained in the Church of England in 2001. Bev is now a social entrepreneur and photographer.
St. Peter’s Anglican Church has a beautiful building. Many people help look after it. Tessa keeps the inside clean. Wilson cares for the garden and plants.
