The church was deconsecrated in 1945. The land was purchased by the US Federal Government for a new hospital.

But the story doesn’t end there. The congregation wasn’t deterred. They purchased new property on K Street. Architect Philip H Frohman designed a new building. Services began in the new Saint Paul’s Church in 1948. It was finally consecrated in 1966. Saint Paul’s even survived another move. In 1911 the first organ recital series in the city was launched. The church’s impressive Schoenstein organ was installed in 1996. It’s a testament to the enduring commitment to faith and music.
