Sai Kung Sung Tsun Catholic School was established in 1924. Father Emilio Teruzzi founded it. He was an Italian missionary. Initially, it was known as Sai Kung Sung Tsun School. The school started as a primary school. It had both Chinese and English divisions.

During the Pacific War, the school was forced to close from 1941 to 1945. After the war, Sai Kung Sung Tsun Catholic School reopened in 1946. Only a little over 20 students returned then. The school grew quickly after the war.

In 1949, Sai Kung Sung Tsun Catholic School began receiving full government funding. It became one of the few subsidized schools in Hong Kong. The school re-established its secondary school section in 1951.

Sai Kung Sung Tsun Catholic School expanded to a five-year secondary school in 1964. They also introduced an English secondary school curriculum. A night school was opened in 1974. The night school closed in the early 1980s.

In 1981, a pre-university course was introduced at Sai Kung Sung Tsun Catholic School. The first graduates took the Hong Kong Higher Level Examination in 1983. In 1982, the school fully adopted mother-tongue teaching. This aligns with the Catholic Diocese’s educational philosophy.

Rev. Emilio Teruzzi MEM was born in Italy in 1887. He arrived in Hong Kong in 1912. He served in various parishes. These included St. Francis’ Church in Wanchai and Sai Kung. He died in 1942.

The school’s mission is to promote the Gospel spirit. It guides students through school life. The school integrates knowledge faith culture and life. Sai Kung Sung Tsun Catholic School fosters holistic development. It encourages students to love themselves and others.
