Established in 1963, S.K.H. St. Mary’s Church Mok Hing Yiu College began its journey as St. Mary’s Church Secondary School. It aimed to provide further education rooted in Christian values. The school’s dual goals were knowing the truth and practicing the way of the Lord.
Originally a private school, S.K.H. St. Mary’s Church Mok Hing Yiu College transitioned into a government-subsidized English secondary school in 1982. Over time, it evolved into a fully established co-educational institution. The school faced new demands as the 21st century arrived. Its old building in Causeway Bay proved inadequate.
In 2005, S.K.H. St. Mary’s Church Mok Hing Yiu College received a new, modern school building. This allocation came from the Education and Manpower Bureau. A generous donation from Dr. Mok Hing Yiu funded the new school’s development. To honor his contribution, the school was renamed St. Mary’s Church Mok Hing Yiu Secondary School.
The school motto is Learning to Reach the Truth. S.K.H. St. Mary’s Church Mok Hing Yiu College practices holistic Christian education. Students are taught to understand the meaning of life. They gain knowledge of biblical truths. Building good character is key.
