In 1922, the fountain sculpture “Gosse lekande med svan” was erected. Theodor Lundberg created it. It still stands in the restaurant’s garden.
Over the years, the pavilion expanded. In 1998, a large glass dining veranda was added. Nyréns Arkitektkontor designed it. In 2005, an outdoor bar extended the gable northwards.
Rosendals Wärdshus is green-marked by the Stockholm City Museum. This means the building has special value. It is important for historical, cultural, environmental, or artistic reasons.
Before this building, the Victoria Regia house stood here. It was a large greenhouse for Rosendal’s garden. It was torn down in 1911. Only the gardener’s villa remained.
Today, Djurgårdsrestauranger AB runs Rosendals Wärdshus. They also own Restaurang Josefina. Rosendals Wärdshus serves traditional Swedish food.
