Founded in 1959 Rosaryhill School stands before you a testament to Hong Kong’s rich history. This wasn’t just any school. Rosaryhill was a cornerstone of the community. It was established by the Dominican Order at the site of the St Albert the Great Priory. For decades Dominican priests served as supervisors.

Rosaryhill wasn’t just about academics. It was a place of faith and learning. The school offered kindergarten primary and secondary education. It even had a business studies section once. But the school’s history is marked by change. In 2007 the kindergarten section became its own entity Rosaryhill Kindergarten. The business studies section closed in 2012. The secondary section separated in 2017 becoming Rosaryhill Secondary School.

Think of the generations that walked these halls. Famous alumni include Leslie Cheung a Cantopop icon and actor. Kelly Chen a celebrated Cantopop singer and actress also attended. Charlene Choi a well-known actress and singer is another notable alumna. Many others achieved success in diverse fields. Their stories are interwoven with Rosaryhill’s legacy.

The school’s closure in July 2024 marked a poignant moment. The secondary section was transferred to Yu Chun Keung Memorial College No 2. The primary and kindergarten sections went to Dalton School Hong Kong. This transition symbolized both an ending and a new beginning. Rosaryhill School may be gone but its impact remains. Its spirit lives on in the lives it touched and the memories it created. It’s a story of faith education and the enduring power of community. A story that deserves to be remembered.
