Founded in 1967 Rockville United Church stands as a testament to unity. It’s a place where two distinct congregations Faith United Church of Christ and St Andrew United Presbyterian Church merged. Their shared vision created something truly special. Rockville United Church isn’t just a building. It’s a living embodiment of their combined faith.
The church’s history is rich with stories of collaboration and compassion. The founding members drafted the church’s bylaws and Statement of Faith. These documents guide the church to this day. While updated over time the original spirit of acceptance and mission remains strong.
Rockville United Church is more than a house of worship. It actively serves the community. This dedication started in 1967. Along with the church’s formation Community Ministries of Rockville CMR was established. CMR focuses on helping those in need. Initially Rockville United Church provided both the Executive Director and Pastor for CMR. Today CMR operates independently. It helps thousands annually.
Over the years Rockville United Church has supported many mission projects. These include Habitat for Humanity and Tents of Hope. The church also provides meals to shelters. Importantly Rockville United Church is an open and affirming congregation. This reflects the inclusive spirit of its founders.
