This campground features seven walk-in primitive sites. There is also an accessible group pavilion. Each campsite has two tent pads. They also have two picnic tables, a grill, and a fire pit. Depending on the site, up to ten campers can be accommodated.

Planning your visit to the Robert C. McDonell Campground is essential. Reservations can be made online. You could also call the Park Permit Office at 301-495-2525. Remember to do this at least three business days in advance. The Park Permit Office is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. For inquiries, email ParkPermits@MontgomeryParks.org.

Keep in mind the seasonal conditions. The Robert C. McDonell Campground is open year-round. However, running water is unavailable from November 1 to March 31. This affects lower sites #1, 2, 6, 7 and upper sites #3, 4, 5. Porta Johns are available in each parking lot during this period.
