The Robert-Bosch-Krankenhaus, Standort City, wasn’t always known by this name. It began its life in 1896 when the Bethesda deaconesses started their work here. The building officially became the Bethesda Krankenhaus in 1912, part of the Bethesda Diakoniewerk within the Evangelical Methodist Church. The hospital has seen a few name changes over the years. In 2016, Agaplesion sold it to Sana Kliniken AG, and it became the Sana Klinik Bethesda Stuttgart. Then, on January 1, 2023, the Robert Bosch Krankenhaus acquired the location from Sana, giving it its current name. For a time, the Robert-Bosch-Krankenhaus, Standort City, housed various departments. These included general and visceral surgery, anesthesia, intensive and emergency medicine, and internal medicine. It also had departments for gastroenterology, diabetology, geriatrics, and even an ENT department. Over time, some departments moved to the Karl-Olga-Krankenhaus, like the accident surgery and orthopedics in March 2020. Later that year, general and visceral surgery also relocated. As of October 1, 2020, the Robert-Bosch-Krankenhaus, Standort City focused on internal medicine, gastroenterology, diabetology, and acute geriatrics. In December 2020, it opened a geriatric rehabilitation department with 20 beds. Today, the Robert-Bosch-Krankenhaus, Standort City continues its mission with around 200 employees. It has 150 beds for acute care and 50 for geriatric rehabilitation. The hospital continues to be a vital part of the Stuttgart community, offering essential medical services.
