River of Grace Church wasn’t always here. Its roots reach back to 1979. It began as Maranatha Christian Fellowship in the Philippines. Bishop Joseph DiSarno a young leader at The Tabernacle in New York had a calling. He planted a new church far away. This small seed grew.

In 1992 Pastor Joseph Porter and his family arrived in Rockville Maryland. They nurtured a fellowship of believers. This fellowship blossomed into River of Life Church. It steadily grew for years. Then in 2016 Pastor Porter retired. Mike and Grace Ibay answered a call. They took the leadership of the church. They renamed it River of God Church. Now it’s known as River of Grace Church.

The Ibay’s aren’t newcomers to ministry. They served as youth pastors for sixteen years. They were at River of Life Church International Christian Fellowship. The Uybengkees their spiritual mentors guided them. To this day the Ibays are still Board members. They remain connected to their mentors. The Ibays co-lead the church. They see people walking in their identity. They encourage people to pursue God’s call. They homeschool their three children. They share a love of family.
