“Uplifting” is the perfect word to describe it, wouldn’t you say? This massive sculpture, known as “Rising” or “Hitromemut” in Hebrew, certainly has a presence. Towering 15 meters high above Habima Square, it’s a creation by the sculptor Menashe Kadishman. Three enormous circles, each spanning 5 meters in diameter, connect diagonally. They’re crafted from unpainted, rusty metal, which adds to the sculpture’s raw, industrial feel. Many see the tilted circles as a symbol of defying gravity, of rising above the everyday. Some even feel it represents the potential to overcome life’s challenges. Next time you’re in Habima Square, take a moment to appreciate “Rising”. Let its unconventional beauty inspire you.
