Nestled in Padnell Crescent, Rewa Rewa School isn’t just a building. It’s a testament to the power of community and creativity. Rewa Rewa School, as many locals will tell you, has always been focused on providing an engaging learning environment. But in 2021, the school decided to take this commitment a step further. They partnered with Creo, a design firm, to transform underutilized outdoor areas into vibrant spaces for learning and play. The team at Rewa Rewa School wanted to encourage students to connect with nature. They wanted a space that would ignite their imaginations and provide opportunities for outdoor learning. Creo listened. They crafted a concept that seamlessly blended an open learning environment with a dedicated play area. This new space, tucked alongside the classroom block, was previously too small for traditional play equipment. Creo cleverly introduced unique play elements that maximized the narrow space without overwhelming it. The area now boasts a natural, cozy feel, with earth tones creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Students can gather for ground games or simply relax in the comfortable seating areas. The play space flows into a larger, open area, perfect for outdoor classroom learning. This area is covered by shade and features a soft, rubber safety surface. Rewa Rewa School’s outdoor learning environment is more than just aesthetically pleasing. It’s a sensory experience. The design team incorporated a variety of textures and materials. Artificial turf, rubber mulch, wood, rocks, and plantings all contribute to the rich sensory experience. This attention to detail has transformed a once-forgotten corner of the school into a vibrant hub of activity. Rewa Rewa School now has a revitalized outdoor space. It is a testament to the power of creative design and a commitment to enriching the learning experience for all students.
