Resurrection Parish has been a beacon in Riverview. It is a testament to faith and community. Father Eugeniusz Gancarz served as pastor here. He dedicated himself to this parish from 2011 until his retirement in 2019.
Father Gancarz’s journey to Resurrection Parish was quite remarkable. Born in Poland, he was ordained in 1971. For 22 years, he served in Argentina as a “Fidei Donum” priest. In 2001, he came to the Diocese of St. Petersburg. He served as parochial vicar at Incarnation in Tampa and St. Clement in Plant City.
In 2007, Father Gancarz became a priest of this diocese. Four years later, he was assigned to Resurrection Parish. Here, he shepherded the community with dedication and love. His leadership shaped Resurrection Parish into what it is today.
But Father Gancarz isn’t the only priest with a story to tell. The Diocese of St. Petersburg celebrated many priests. They marked 50 years of priestly ministry. Each has a unique journey. Each journey involves service and commitment.
