The spirit of Wesley, the founder of Methodism, certainly echoes within these walls. Prince of Peace United Methodist Church, nestled in Manassas, Virginia, thrives as a modern embodiment of Wesley’s vision. The church, located at 6299 Token Forest Drive, embodies a vibrant community. It serves Dale City, Manassas, and Woodbridge. Prince of Peace was founded in 1982. The church emerged from a dream amidst a rapidly growing area. It aimed to provide a sense of belonging and family. Today, that dream has blossomed into a diverse congregation. Members hail from nearly every state and represent countries from around the world. Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Caribbean are all represented within this family of faith. The church’s mission is simple yet profound: “Seek Christ, share Christ, and serve Christ, so that in Him we all may know peace.” This mission resonates through every aspect of Prince of Peace. From the youngest children to the senior members, everyone learns, leads, and serves together. The church embraces a blend of traditional and contemporary music in its worship services. This aims to create an inclusive atmosphere for all. Prince of Peace extends its mission beyond its walls. They actively serve the local community through various initiatives. The church collects school supplies for children in need each August. It partners with the Salvation Army to fill stockings in December. It works with Prince William County Social Services. Recently, Prince of Peace participated in a unique sermon series. Six United Methodist Churches in the Woodbridge area joined together for a “Pulpit Swap”. Pastors rotated between churches for six weeks. They delivered messages based on John Wesley’s masterworks. This collaborative effort offered a fresh perspective on classic teachings. It fostered a sense of unity among neighboring congregations. Prince of Peace truly embodies the spirit of community and service.
