Prince of Peace Lutheran Church officially became a congregation in 1962, with just 66 baptized members. Their first home was not a grand edifice, but the humble Goodrich School. In 1966, the dream of a dedicated space became a reality. Prince of Peace Lutheran Church built its first sanctuary. The unique octagonal design, with exposed brick and dark wooden beams, evokes a sense of warmth and reverence. The sanctuary’s shape symbolizes the eight days of creation, a constant reminder of God’s boundless love and power. The North Room, added alongside the sanctuary, served as a space for fellowship and community gatherings.
The church continued to grow, both spiritually and physically. In 1970, the East Room expanded the church’s capacity to host events and gatherings. This multipurpose space became the heart of the church’s social life, fostering connections and strengthening the bonds of community. Later additions included classrooms in 1982 and an expanded office in 1989, further solidifying Prince of Peace Lutheran Church as a vital community hub.
Over the years, seven pastors have guided the flock at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
