It stands tall on the corner of East 14th Avenue, a beacon of hope and faith in the heart of the city. This isn’t just any ordinary church. Praise International Church is a testament to the enduring power of faith, perseverance, and a community united by its strong Christian beliefs. The current building, a testament to their resilience, stands as a symbol of a remarkable journey. The church was founded as a church plant in 1989. It started as a small group of 20 members, worshipping in a conference room at the Chateau Granville. They quickly grew to occupy several different locations in Vancouver, eventually purchasing their first building on Quebec Street in 1996, a historic gem that became the hub for their ‘Dickensville’ festivities, a spectacular Christmas tradition. They continued to grow until tragedy struck in 2004. A devastating fire consumed their cherished Quebec Street building. But the flames of adversity did not extinguish the spirit of Praise International Church. They held onto their faith and rebuilt, finding their current home in Vancouver not long after, where they continue to thrive as a beacon of love and faith for their community. This resilient congregation is a testament to the strength of belief, the unwavering power of faith, and the transformative nature of community.
