The Pomník padlých při transportu smrti, located in Lány na Důlku, commemorates 12 victims of a Nazi death transport. In January 1945, two German prison trains passed through this area on their way to Prague. The soldiers on board threw the bodies of 12 prisoners from the train. These victims were later found near Lány na Důlku and laid to rest in the local cemetery. The memorial itself is a powerful image of loss and remembrance. Two slanted pylons, crafted from roughly hewn granite, dominate the space. A stylized crown of thorns, forged from metal, rests between them, symbolizing suffering and sacrifice.
