Plenitude do Reino de Deus

Have you heard whispers of a “throne of God” here in São Paulo? Right here before us stands the Igreja Apostólica Plenitude do Trono de Deus, or simply Plenitude do Reino de Deus. Founded in 2006 by Apostle Agenor Duque and Bishop Ingrid Duque, this neo-pentecostal church pulsates with a vibrant energy. Plenitude do Reino de Deus is part of the third wave of Pentecostalism. Apostle Duque’s journey began in the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God. He later joined the World Church of the Power of God before founding Plenitude do Reino de Deus on September 7, 2006. This church isn’t confined to these walls. Its message spreads across radio waves, television screens, and online platforms. Plenitude do Reino de Deus even has its own television channel. In 2019, on May Day, the church moved to its current location on Avenida Celso Garcia. The church’s influence extends beyond São Paulo. Plenitude do Reino de Deus has locations across Brazil, including Rio de Janeiro, Amazonas, Rio Grande do Sul, and Goiás. The church boasts a membership of around 100,000 people. One of the church’s most well-known events is the annual “Fogo de Avivamento para o Brasil” congress. First held in 2009, this congress usually takes place during Carnival. Plenitude do Reino de Deus has not been without controversy. In 2014, the church faced criticism over photos posted on Facebook. The photos showed Apostle Duque and his wife appearing to “anoint” large cups of grape juice, supposedly for communion. The church clarified that the juice was consecrated to anoint the belongings of the faithful, not for communion.
