In 1875, a spark ignited near the crossroads of Benfield and Jumpers Hole Road. This spark was the Piney Branch Methodist Church, the ancestor of what we now know as Pasadena United Methodist Church. Our journey begins here, at this beautiful church, a testament to faith and community. Pasadena United Methodist Church stands as a symbol of resilience, its story interwoven with the very fabric of this community. The early congregation met in various locations, a testament to their unwavering devotion. They gathered in tents, borrowed schoolrooms, anywhere they could find space. Imagine them, huddled together, their voices rising in hymns under canvas or within the echoing walls of a classroom. In 1919, their dedication bore fruit. The first official Pasadena Methodist Church building was erected, a tangible symbol of their growing presence. The community blossomed, and so did the congregation. By 1958, this very building we stand before was completed, a testament to their continued growth and faith. A pivotal moment arrived in 1968, a year of unification. The Evangelical United Brethren and Methodist Episcopal Church merged, giving birth to the Pasadena United Methodist Church as we know it today. This church isn’t just bricks and mortar. It’s a living testament to generations of faith, a beacon of hope, and a center of community service. It has witnessed countless baptisms, weddings, and funerals, marking the milestones of life for its members. Pasadena United Methodist Church continues its mission to invite, grow, and build. It invites each person into a relationship with God, encourages spiritual growth, and strives to build God’s kingdom through service and compassion.
