Founded in 1888 Parkdale Collegiate Institute boasts a rich history. It first opened its doors in a Masonic Hall on Dowling Avenue. A year later it moved to its current Jameson Avenue location. The original building served until 1928. Then it was demolished to make way for the Collegiate Gothic structure we see today. This beautiful building was completed in 1929. Two additions followed the most recent in the 1960s. Parkdale Collegiate Institute is one of Toronto’s oldest secondary schools.

Three even participated in the 1976 Montreal Olympics. Marvin Nash in the 100 metres Bishop Dolegiewicz in discus and George Tintor in rowing all represented Canada.
