Picture this: the Polski Country Club acquired this land, a sprawling 50-hectare plot, from Count Adam Branicki. Their vision? A prestigious golf course. However, World War II dramatically altered the landscape. During the occupation, the manicured greens were transformed into farmland, a testament to the practical necessities of a city under siege. In the aftermath of the war, a remarkable act of generosity shaped the park’s destiny. The shareholders of the Polski Country Club donated the entire property to the city of Warsaw. Their only condition? That it be used to create a space for sport and recreation. And so, Park Kultury w Powsinie was born. Today, Park Kultury w Powsinie encompasses 35 hectares. It’s a vibrant hub of activity, a place where basketballs swish through nets, volleyballs arc across sandy courts, and swimmers glide through the cool water of the outdoor pool. The park also boasts a unique acoustical shell, a stage for cultural performances that adds another layer to its diverse offerings. Look around.
