Parafia Zesłania Ducha Świętego w Ząbkach

The heart of Ząbki pulses with history. It stands as a testament to faith and resilience, and its story is inseparable from the evolving identity of this town. This is Parafia Zesłania Ducha Świętego, a vibrant Catholic parish that took root in the early 2000s. Its story began just before the turn of the millennium, in the heart of a community that craved a spiritual home of its own. Back then, the area was part of the parish of Świętej Trójcy, a thriving community established in 1919. But as Ząbki grew, the need for a dedicated parish began to emerge. Father Sylwester Ciesielski was the driving force behind the creation of Parafia Zesłania Ducha Świętego. Appointed as a vicar in 1999, he received the crucial task of organizing a new pastoral center. In September 2000, Bishop Romaniuk blessed the cross, a brick chapel, and the site for the new church. There were no bells at this point, just the whispers of hope and the promise of a new beginning. The parish was officially established a year later in June 2002. The foundation stone for the new church was laid in 2012, and the first Mass in the lower church was celebrated on Christmas Day, 2014, by Archbishop Hoser. The church, designed by Aleksy Dworczak, is built with a vision of community and spiritual growth. It stands tall as a monument to the collective faith of Ząbki, a beacon of hope in the heart of a rapidly evolving town.
