Do you sense that? It’s the spirit of community and resilience. Right here, in front of the Parafia Zesłania Ducha Świętego in Iwiczna, stands a testament to both. This church has a fascinating history. It started its life as a humble wooden structure built in 1843 for the local Evangelical community. In 1893, it was replaced with the present brick building you see today. This Parafia Zesłania Ducha Świętego wasn’t always a Catholic church. It served the local Evangelical population until 1944 when most of them were evacuated during the war. After suffering some damage, it was lovingly restored. In 1979, it was acquired by the Catholic Church. It underwent extensive renovations, largely thanks to the tireless efforts and dedication of the parishioners. The church was then rededicated as Parafia Zesłania Ducha Świętego. It officially became a Catholic parish in October 1983. Today, the Parafia Zesłania Ducha Świętego stands as a symbol of continuity and change. It reminds us that even in the face of upheaval and transition, faith and community can endure and even find new life.
