Yet amidst the political turmoil a spark of hope ignites here in Bródno. The existing parishes, Matka Bożej Różańcowej and Świętej Marii Magdaleny, were overwhelmed by the growing population. A new church, a beacon of hope was desperately needed. That is how the journey of Parafia Świętego Włodzimierza w Warszawie-Bródnie began. After years of tireless efforts and unwavering faith, the dream finally took shape. A temporary chapel, a precursor to the grand edifice that would rise later, was erected and consecrated on November 12, 1989. Can you imagine the outpouring of joy and relief that must have filled the hearts of the people? And finally on June 15, 1990, Parafia Świętego Włodzimierza w Warszawie-Bródnie was officially established – a victory for the spirit of faith over adversity. But the story doesn’t end there. The construction of the church continued under the leadership of the dedicated Father Henryk Zaraś. In 1999 a cornerstone from the sacred Pechersk Lavra in Kyiv was laid marking a symbolic connection between two Slavic nations united by faith. Finally in May 2002, the monumental church we stand before was consecrated. Parafia Świętego Włodzimierza w Warszawie-Bródnie serves as a reminder that even in the darkest of times faith and perseverance can triumph.
