Seven thousand five hundred square meters. That’s how much land Bishop Jerzy Modzelewski consecrated in 1984. This land was destined for something magnificent. Something sacred. It would become the foundation of Parafia sw Jozef Oblubienca Najswietszej Maryi Panny w Pruszkowie. Right here before you stands the testament to that vision.
The Parafia sw Jozef Oblubienca Najswietszej Maryi Panny w Pruszkowie wasn’t built overnight. Its story began with a dream a hope for a new spiritual center. Construction began that same year. The first mass however was held much earlier in 1986. This was in a small temporary chapel. It was a humble beginning within the walls of the soon-to-be-built parish building. The first mass in the unfinished lower church was even later on Christmas Day 1990. The first mass in the completed upper church was only celebrated at the Christmas Eve service in 2005.
The initial years were filled with the sounds of hammers and saws. The scent of fresh concrete and wood. The dedication of Father Miroslaw Piszczatowski the first pastor. He shepherded the parish’s growth. He oversaw the construction. He laid the groundwork for the community’s spiritual foundation. He served as pastor until 2007. He is now an emeritus resident of the parish.
Father Dariusz Boguszewski took the reins in June 2007. He inherited the burden and blessing of this growing community. Today the parish boasts over seventeen thousand parishioners a testament to its enduring appeal and steadfast faith. It shows the growth from a small temporary space to the impressive structure before you.
More than just bricks and mortar the Parafia sw Jozef Oblubienca Najswietszej Maryi Panny w Pruszkowie is a living entity. It’s a vibrant tapestry of community life.
