The cornerstone blessed by Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski himself rests within these very walls. This is the Parafia Matki Bożej Nieustającej Pomocy in Duczki a place steeped in history and unwavering faith.

The story of the Parafia Matki Bożej Nieustającej Pomocy begins not with grand plans but with a small humble chapel. In 1905 a Russian colonel named Krysztanowski placed a plaster statue of the Immaculate Mother of God in the nearby hamlet of Zenonów. This simple act sparked a devotion that would grow over decades. In 1938 villagers built a small chapel a testament to their growing faith.

However the road to establishing the Parafia Matki Bożej Nieustającej Pomocy was not easy. In 1957 plans for a parish in Zagościniec were thwarted by the communist authorities. Undeterred the community continued to worship in their expanding chapel. By 1969 it had undergone several expansions reflecting the ever-growing congregation. Father Zygmunt Krysztopa became instrumental in its development.

In 1973 he was appointed as a vicar with a mission to establish a new pastoral center. He purchased a plot of land in Duczki a dilapidated outhouse. The outhouse was transformed into a temporary chapel. The first Mass was held there September 9 1975. This small chapel served as a beacon of hope for years until a new church could be built.

The construction of the current church was a monumental task. It began in 1979 completed in 1985 and consecrated by Cardinal Jozef Glemp. The building’s design was created by Maciej and Ewa Krasińscy with the construction overseen by engineer Tadeusz Jarząbek. The new church was dedicated to Our Lady of Perpetual Help. The official parish was established on March 6 1980.

Today the Parafia Matki Bożej Nieustającej Pomocy stands as a symbol of resilience and unwavering faith. It serves a large community including the towns of Duczki Nowe Grabie Nowe Lipiny and Stare Grabie. It’s a vibrant heart of the community a place where generations have found solace and spiritual guidance. It’s a testament to the perseverance of its people. It’s a story of faith triumphing over adversity. This is more than just a church it is a living breathing testament to the strength of the human spirit. And it’s a story that continues to unfold.
