His initial venture supplying locks to furniture makers allowed the Papaiz company to take root. It quickly blossomed, fueled by Papaiz’s dedication to cutting-edge technology and nurturing his workforce. Papaiz’s legacy extends beyond locks and keys. In 1967, Papaiz introduced the padlocks that would solidify the company’s place as a Brazilian market leader. Later, in the 1970s, Papaiz ventured into high-security home locks, further expanding its reach. The company’s growth led to the opening of a modern facility in Diadema in 1982, a testament to Papaiz’s vision. Papaiz, now part of the Assa Abloy Group, continues to innovate. Its products, exported to over 20 countries, bear the mark of Luigi Papaiz’s initial journey. From a small workshop in Bologna to a Brazilian industrial powerhouse, Papaiz’s story embodies the spirit of entrepreneurship. His contributions to the Italian community in São Paulo earned him the title of Cavaliere di Gran Croce, a fitting tribute to a man who built security and opportunity.
