Stepping into the serene garden in Břve, near Hostivice, we find a modern marvel dedicated to faith and broadcasting. This is the Kaple Panny Marie, Hvězdy evangelizace, also known as the Chapel of Our Lady, Star of Evangelization. It was built in 2016, a project spearheaded by TV Noe and Alena Filípková. The chapel isn’t your typical place of worship. Panny Marie, Hvězdy evangelizace has been designed specifically for television broadcasts. Its simple, cubic form blends seamlessly with the surrounding garden. One side even opens up, weather and technology permitting, to accommodate a larger audience for special events. This connection with nature is central to the chapel’s design. The changing seasons become a backdrop to the televised masses, offering viewers a dual image of faith and the natural world. Inside Panny Marie, Hvězdy evangelizace, the modern world meets tradition. A screen built into the altar table signifies the chapel’s role in modern communication. This blend of technology and spirituality allows the chapel to reach those who cannot physically attend services. Architect Anna Hájková designed the building itself. Artist Michael Georgiev designed the circular sanctuary, which serves as the symbolic heart of the interior. Panny Marie, Hvězdy evangelizace stands as a testament to the innovative ways faith can be shared in the modern age. It blends technology and tradition to connect with a wider audience, all while nestled within the tranquil beauty of a garden setting.
