Let’s explore Our Lady’s College in Hong Kong. This aided girls’ secondary school has a rich history. It has shaped young minds in Kowloon since 1953.

Our Lady’s College was founded by the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians. It started as Our Lady’s School in Chuk Yuen. The foundation stone was laid in 1953. In 1954, the school opened with kindergarten and primary classes. The English Secondary Section began in 1960. The school was renamed Our Lady’s College in 1962. That same year, the Chinese Secondary Section opened.

The first Form Five pupils took the Hong Kong School Certificate Examination in 1965. Our Lady’s College became private assisted in 1969. By 1979, the Secondary Section was fully aided. The school celebrated its Silver Jubilee with an Open Day in May 1979. Form Six classes began in 1984. The Students’ Association formed in 1986. The Parent-Teacher Association was officially established in 1996. In 1998, the government approved the school’s continued use of English as the medium of instruction.

Our Lady’s College celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 2003. The annex was completed in 2007. In 2008, the school marked its 55th Anniversary. The CAL room and Language room were completed. Our Lady’s College celebrated its Diamond Jubilee in 2013.

Our Lady’s College occupies a large area. It provides ample space for learning and growth. The school has 30 classrooms. It also has 17 special rooms. A chapel offers a quiet space for reflection. The assembly hall accommodates all staff and students. Two playgrounds provide space for recreation. A spacious basement completes the facilities.
