Kistler’s journey is quite interesting. He trained as a brewer and maltster at the Schlossbrauerei Kaltenberg. He then spent three years at Augustiner Bräu München. After earning his Diplom-Braumeister from TU Berlin, he worked on brewery projects worldwide. His work spanned from Angola to China and even Ukraine. He eventually returned to Austria and became a teacher at the Österreichisches Getränkeinstitut.
Now, consider the curriculum. The Österreichisches Getränkeinstitut offers programs for both Brau- und Getränketechnik and Destillateur/Destillateurin. Both last three years.
