Can you imagine standing on a timber platform suspended in the air? That is Oreades Lookout. This fenced lookout offers incredible views. We are standing on the Three Sisters walk. This easy track gives us access to some of the most iconic views in the Blue Mountains National Park.
Oreades Lookout provides a unique vantage point. From here you can see Mount Solitary and the Jamison Valley. The views are breathtaking. If you are sitting in a wheelchair the views to the Three Sisters are filtered. Shorter visitors may find their view limited by the handrails.
The Three Sisters walk is family-friendly. It offers ever-changing views of the grand Three Sisters. These rise nearly a kilometre above sea level. As we walk listen for the calls of native birds. Keep an eye out for the superb lyrebird and crimson rosellas.
The path to Oreades Lookout is gently sloping. It is about 400m from the Echo Point Visitor Centre. The weather-eroded sandstone turrets of the Three Sisters are amazing. The hazy blue Jamison Valley stretches out to Mount Solitary.
This area is rich in Aboriginal culture. The Three Sisters Aboriginal Place is a place of special cultural significance. Take a moment to appreciate this.
Oreades Lookout is accessible with assistance from Echo Point. Access to Honeymoon Bridge involves steep stairs. Please take care if you choose to continue.
Many people visit Echo Point lookout each year. It is the Blue Mountains’ most famous and popular lookout. From Echo Point it is a short walk to Oreades Lookout.
From Oreades Lookout you can continue to Lady Game lookout. This offers a closer view of the Three Sisters. For those feeling energetic longer walks are nearby. Consider the Prince Henry Cliff walk.
The Three Sisters walk is well-maintained. The track is clear and well-formed. It is clearly signposted. The infrastructure is useful with fenced cliffs and seats. No special experience is required to enjoy this walk. Weather usually has little impact on safety.
There is a seat located 410m from the start of the Three Sisters walk. A further 30m will bring you to Oreades Lookout.
