He only planned to make a few barrels of wine. Three years later Nitida’s Sauvignon Blanc won its first gold medal. That’s quite a return on a two-week holiday. In 2001 Nitida achieved recognition as a benchmark Semillon producer. Their success is not accidental. It’s a testament to their meticulous approach. Helgard van Schalkwyk joined the team in 2023 as winemaker. He continues the legacy of creating beautiful award-winning wines. The Nitida method prioritizes minimal intervention.
