Nestled within the eastern expanse of Tel Aviv lies Nir Aviv. It’s a vibrant neighborhood, its name literally translating to “Spring Meadow” in Hebrew. Imagine a place where the urban energy of Tel Aviv merges with a sense of quiet residential life. That’s Nir Aviv for you. This neighborhood, officially part of Rova 9 and the municipality of Rova Darom Mizrach, offers a unique perspective on Tel Aviv life. Nir Aviv sits about 5.5 kilometers east of the Mediterranean Sea. The elevation is around 30 meters above sea level. The main artery through Nir Aviv is Highway 461, also known as Derech Chajim Bar Lev Street. This bustling street connects Nir Aviv to the surrounding areas. To the north, you’ll find the neighborhood of Neve Chen. To the west is Neve Eli’ezer, and to the south, Jedidja. Venturing east, just beyond Nir Aviv’s boundary, you step into Ramat Gan. There you’ll discover the sprawling grounds of the Safari Ramat Gan and Ramat Gan National Park. Along Nir Aviv’s southeastern edge flows the Nachal Kofer stream, eventually joining the Nachal Ajalon. Nir Aviv itself is bordered by Machal Street to the north, Derech Chajim Bar Lev Street to the south, Derech ha-Tajasim Street to the east, and Sheset ha-Jamim Street to the west. Picture a landscape dominated by dense, multi-story residential buildings. This dense urban fabric defines Nir Aviv’s character. Back in 2007, Nir Aviv housed around 4,873 residents. Today, that number has likely changed, but the neighborhood’s unique blend of urban living and tranquil atmosphere remains.
