New Life Tabernacle UPC is part of the New Life Tabernacle Family of Churches. Together they share a grand vision. It is a vision to reach the entire city. They are thankful for God’s blessings. They continue to serve the people.
New Life Tabernacle UPC believes in certain key principles. They believe in the inspiration of the Scriptures. Both the Old and New Testaments are included. The Holy Spirit gave them originally. These scriptures are the final authority. They guide faith and life.
They believe in one God. He is revealed in three distinct persons. These are the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit. New Life Tabernacle UPC also believes in the divinity and humanity of Christ. Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He took on the form of man. He became the God-Man.
New Life Tabernacle UPC knows that man in his natural state is a sinner. He is lost without hope. But they believe in salvation. It comes through repentance. It also comes through faith in Jesus Christ. This results in regeneration. Salvation is by grace not works.
The church upholds the importance of the Holy Spirit. He is active in the world today. The Spirit lives in believers. He seals them at new birth. Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a later experience. It empowers Christians to be witnesses. New Life Tabernacle UPC encourages the use of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
New Life Tabernacle UPC recognizes the importance of sacraments. Believer’s water baptism is one. The Lord’s Supper is another. These should be practiced regularly.
The church also addresses important social issues. They believe all people are equal before God. They stand against racial discrimination. They promote racial reconciliation. The church believes marriage is between a husband and wife. This reflects God’s love.
Under the leadership of Bishop Daniel M. Davy and Pastor Rashidi F. Collins Pastor Courtney Campbell serves as pastor of NLTWT. The first service was on January 1 2023. Twenty-four people attended.
