Was Neve Oz in Petah Tikva always like this? Let’s journey back to 1946. Neve Oz wasn’t always the developed neighborhood we see today. It started as a secluded area mostly separate from the rest of Petah Tikva.

Imagine an Arab-owned orchard. The Histadrut purchased this land. This marked the beginning of Neve Oz. The vision was to provide homes for Jewish Brigade soldiers after World War II. Veterans received small houses and plots of land. These homes had just one and a half bedrooms.

More land was acquired. The Jewish National Fund sold 12 hectares. New residents received a small subsidy. The neighborhood grew to 350 private homes.

Life in early Neve Oz began to improve. A road connected it to Petah Tikva in 1954. An elementary school and kindergartens opened. A medical clinic and commissaries were also built. Painters Zvi Shor and Tishby Zeev were among the first residents. Ben Gurion Junior High School and High School later opened. They welcomed students from all over the city.

Houses in Old Neve Oz vary in size. Lot sizes range from 265 to 620 square meters. Most houses are duplexes on 310 square meter lots. Prices range from 3.8 million to 5 million NIS. This depends on the lot size and construction investment. A small house approved for demolition sells for around 2.4 million NIS. A newer, larger house can cost around 3.9 million NIS.

Fifteen years ago, New Neve Oz emerged. It sits alongside Kfar Ganim and Old Neve Oz. This led to the original area being called Old Neve Oz. New Neve Oz is bordered by Haatzmaut Street, Rabin Road, and Dgania Street. It features South New Neve Oz and regular New Neve Oz.

South New Neve Oz is closer to Kfar Ganim Gimel. Its homes are topographically higher. Most lots in New Neve Oz are 250 square meters. The average price is around 1.8 million NIS. Constructed houses cost around 3.8 million NIS. The population is relatively young. New Neve Oz has denser construction than Old Neve Oz.

Today, Yokra Estate offers many homes in Petah Tikva. They specialize in luxury homes in high-demand areas. Yossi Mimran, a marketing expert, owns Yokra Estate Brokerage. He has become a top realtor in Israel.

Neve Oz has transformed over the years. From an orchard to a haven for soldiers. From small homes to diverse housing options. Neve Oz continues to evolve while cherishing its past. As you explore Neve Oz, remember its humble beginnings. This neighborhood stands as a testament to growth. It shows community development over time.
